You would think that a band like Aerosmith - who have been together for 45 years - would be secure amongst each other, but that's not so, judging by recent comments made by guitarist Brad Whitford.

Speaking to Billboard, Whitford hinted at the band's frustration that Steven Tyler had cancelled some of their 2016 tour plans to focus on his solo career.

Tyler is rumoured to be released a solo country album next year, which nixes the Boston band's plans for a new album and tour. "We kind of feel a little bit abandoned by him," he said. "I guess he seems to think his solo career is going to go great guns, and he doesn't seem to realize that – in my opinion – his fans around the globe want to see him in the context of Aerosmith and don't really care for whatever he thinks he's gonna do."

Ouch.

Whitford claimed that there was no way that he could talk Tyler out of his plans, saying "I can't put a gun to his head. It's just pretty disappointing."
