It's been twenty years since Alanis Morissette's album 'Jagged Little Pill' was released, which makes us feel really, really old.
Nonetheless, if you're a fan of songs like 'You Oughta Know', 'Hand in My Pocket' and 'Ironic', the good news is that there's an event taking place in Dublin later this month where you can go and share your love of the album with your fellow Alanis fans.
A 'Jagged Little Pill Sing Along Party' will take place upstairs at MVP on Clanbrassil Street on September 27th at 8.30pm. It's free to attend, although space is limited to 100 people.
"Together, we will play the album from start to finish, and sing the lyrics we didn't really understand when we were 14 ("go down on you in a theatre", anyone?) at the top of our lungs," say organisers on the Facebook invite page. "We'll share stories of where we were when we heard the secret track for the first time. We will try to find, once and for all, an accurate example of something that is "ironic" and we'll wear our sweaters on backwards and inside out. Though the album was released in June 1995 and she didn't play Dublin until April 1996, one of Alanis' first live albums was recorded on 28th September 1995 so hence we shall get together and sing her songs on the 27th September 2015 - close enough."
