Young adult fiction author Jenny Han has already seen her romance novel To All the Boys I've Loved Before and its sequel adapted into films by Netflix. Now, Han pens the pilot episode of this eight-part a multigenerational drama based on the first book of a trilogy set in the fictional seaside retreat of Cousin's Beach. Isabel Conklin (Lola Tung), known affectionately as Belly to family and friends, spends the summer with her mother Laurel (Jackie Chung) and older brother Steven (Sean Kaufman). They are close to Laurel's best friend Susannah Fisher (Rachel Blanchard) and her two boys, emotionally distant eldest son Conrad (Christopher Briney) and golden boy younger brother Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno). As the sun rises and sets over Cousin's Beach, Belly comes of age and becomes one point of a volatile love triangle involving the Fisher siblings.
