Another weekend, another round of rumours about Sharon Osbourne's supposed X Factor return. This time around sources were reporting that the former judge had just signed a £2 million deal to reprise her role one the panel for the upcoming series, and no, the bosses behind the show still weren't coming out with any official line on it either. And why would they? Sure doesn't all the speculation serve them well in the long run.

At this stage, we're quite frankly bored of the rumours about this year's panel. The longer it goes on, the less we look forward to sitting down on the sofa of a Saturday evening to decide that someone with a phenomenal signing voice is decidedly average because, well, we've heard it all before at this stage, haven't we? Lets put it this way: I'm a self confessed X Factor addict, but even I had to head on over to our friendly neighbourhood search engine to remember who won last year. Sorry James Arthur.

Anyway, getting back to business, and the case of Mrs Osbourne. I'm not going to lie, I think the woman knows how to make rather fantastic trash telly. And when it comes to shows like X Factor, isn't that all we're looking for? A bit of light entertainment that we don't have to think too much about, but will become somewhat ridiculously emotionally invested in by the time we reach the live grand final. Most of us didn't even like Ella Henderson all that much, but were incensed when she was unceremoniously thrust out by the public. And we're not even sure why...

The Sunday People reports that Shazza has landed a cool £2 million which, if true, makes her the highest paid judge in X Factor history. "Sharon will be an X Factor judge and it is only a matter of days before the deal is finalised," a 'source' told the newspaper. "She is being paid a hefty sum of £2million as Cowell is desperate to have her on the show... There is no way she would turn down such a well-paid job." That said, the same figure was being touted for Noel Gallagher not so long ago...

You need have only watched the #XFactor Twitter feed of a Saturday night to know that quite a few of us were bored of Barlow (Between Cocozza and Moloney he managed to single handedly destroy my Saturday night on the sofa for two years running) and tired of Tulisa by the end of the last series, so I'd quite frankly be delighted to see Sharon rejoining her LouLou on the panel. You can't deny the woman knows a lot about the industry, having been one of the driving forces behind her family's success.

And sure between herself and Scherzy there'd be enough cattiness and pre-watershed gaffes to keep us well and truly comfortable on the couch anyway...
