Looks like mammy will have to hide the saucepan lids again, because Xena: Warrior Princess could be making a comeback so we'll be in need of a few new breastplates.
Lucy "I'm not Xena" Lawless took to Twitter earlier this afternoon to reveal that there was a lot of interest in reviving the 90s hit. The announcement caused considerable excitement on the Twitter machine, and our Gossip Ed Dave is humming the theme tune as we speak.
Had an interesting call from a chap who wants to re-invigorate the #Xena brand. You guys may have started something.

Lawless did warn fans not to expect too much too soon though: There are a few issues around getting the rights to the franchise and, y'know, that small matter of Xena actually being killed off at the end of the show's original run. But sure look, they killed of Coulson in Avengers Assemble and brought him back in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, and don't even get us started on Bobby Ewing's shower in Dallas.
For those of you who don't remember it, Xena was a spinoff from that other 90's smash hit Hercules: The Legendary Journies, and focused on a formerly evil warrior Princess who attempted to redeem herself by fighting to save the innocent for a change. Incredibly deep and thought provoking stuff, as you can imagine.
Anyway, Lucy says that if the show does return, it may be in a different form: Here's hoping it's that movie she mentioned a few years back, eh?
