We reported a year ago that Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson were coming together to star in the upcoming HBO series True Detective, the networks newest mystery series. And today a full trailer for the show has dropped and it looks pretty darn good.
Harrelson and McConaughey star as detectives Martin Hart and Rust Cohle as their lives collide as they search for a serial killer in Louisiana, a case which spans over 17 years. The show looks dark, compelling and well worth a looksee. With Breaking Bad soon to be leaving our screens maybe True Detective will be able to fill the Walter White shaped hole in our lives.
Speaking about his decision to make the transition to TV - it will be McConaughey's first TV debut - he said, 'It wasn't about looking to do TV — it was just looking at the material and going, 'Wow'. The show will run for eight episodes but if there is to be another series it will follow up with a different story and cast. Check out the trailer below. True Detective is due to air in January 2014.
