Down the years, a hell of a lot of Roses have walked through the doors of the Dome in Tralee, and as it turns out, one of them has gone on to become a well-known presenter with the BBC and ITV.
Archive footage has emerged from RTE of Gabby Logan being interviewed by Gay Byrne on the Rose of Tralee back in 1991. She even told Gay that she hoped to one day be a TV presenter and 'do his job'.
Gabby, who was also a Wales international gymnast, is clearly a woman of her word as she has gone one to become one of the BBC's primary sports presenters, and is currently covering the Olympics for the channel.
Gabby also co-presented the ITV show Splash with Vernon Kay and is a regular panelist on A League of Their Own. She was also a contestant in the 2007 series of Strictly Come Dancing.
Gabby represented Leeds in the Rose of Tralee and told the Second Captains boys it was 'the most unbelievable experience'.
