If you're unfamiliar with the cult sci-fi film Westworld, not to worry. There's a Simpsons episode that rips the mick out of it.

Remember the Itchy and Scratchy land episode? That's basically Westworld - instead of murderous a cat and mouse, it was like a Western. Hence the 'west' part.

So, anyway, JJ Abrams and Jonathan Nolan - brother of Christopher - are reteaming for a new HBO series based on Westworld.

Already, Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, James Marsden and Rodrigo Santoro have been cast and it's looking good. Very good.

The show is being kept under wraps as showrunners Nolan and Abrams are known for their secrecy in films.

Here's two quick Vine teasers to whet your appetite.

Initial thoughts? We're excited about the concept of this. Westworld's a great sci-fi film and JJ Abrams has done good TV in the past. Granted, Alcatraz and Almost Human were cancelled after just a couple of seasons, we're still hopeful.

This'll be Nolan's second foray into television since Person of Interest with Jim Cavaziel, so he's got a decent track record behind him.

Not only that, there's a big name cast behind this and HBO means they can push the boundaries on all fronts.

We're excited. Very excited.
