We had our doubts but now that we've seen it in action, it looks like Ryan Murphy has another hit on his hands.
Following in the footsteps of 'The People v. O.J. Simpson', 'The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story' looks equal parts tacky as hell and altogether brilliant, with Edgar Ramirez stepping into the designer's shoes while Penelope Cruz hams up as Donatella and former 'Glee' star Darren Criss milks murderer Andrew Cunanan for all he's worth.
"This world is wasted on me," Cunanan narrates. "Yet this world also made you, Versace, into a star. You’re not better than me; we’re the same. The only difference is that you got lucky."
Ricky Martin and Max Greenfield sneak in there too and as far as the trailer goes, it looks like a wild ride.
'The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story' is set to premiere on FX in the US on January 17th, and is set to air later in the new year on BBC Two before moving to Netflix after it's done.
