If this doesn't put a smile on your face, we don't know what will.
Stephen Colbert and James Corden are both fresh faces to the late night chat show scene in the US and have become complimentary courses of sorts as hosts of The Late Show and The Late Late Show respectively. Both are on CBS and both, as Stephen pointed out last night, have been in Sondheim musicals before which led to an 'impromptu' song and dance number that does nothing but entertain.
Colbert's enthusiasm and joie de vivire is just enough to overpower Corden's smugness that sometimes ruins him for us, so watching these two belt out the Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr. classic together toes the line between cringe and self-indulgence perfectly.
Fingers crossed we get more of this in the future.
