Newsreader Bryan Dobson has been a near-daily fixture of our lives for over two decades, but he is moving on to pastures new with a Morning Ireland radio slot from next week.
Last night marked his final broadcast on the Six One news - which he has co-presented since 1996 - with co-anchor Sharon Ni Bheolain, who paid tribute to/mortified her colleague and introduced an edited reel of Dobbo's highlights from over the years and described him as 'a rock to us, our anchor - figuratively and literally.'
She added: "I'm not going to look at you now, because I know I'm going to get all teary - but from my point of view, you've been a great friend and mentor."
Everyone has pretty much agreed that the evening news won't be the same without his dulcet tones.
Watch the highlight reel and see the Twitter reaction below:
Fair play and thanks to Bryan Dobson my second favourite Bloke to read the news after Anne Doyle.#Dobbo
