One of the most successful TV series of the noughties is coming back to our screens as Prison Break returns for a brand new season, eight years after the show ended in 2009.
The series originally ran for four seasons and for those that didn't watch it, it revolved around two really, really good looking brothers with a load of tattoos; one goes to prison for a crime he didn't commit and the other devises an elaborate plan to help his brother escape and clear his name - which, eh, also involves going to prison.
Anyways, it ended after the fourth season with the apparent death of Michael (Wentworth Miller) but that's no obstacle in TV land and both brothers return to this follow-up series. It looks like it's staying true to the original format too, with Lincoln (Dominic Purcell) discovering that his brother is alive but stuck in a Moroccan prison, so together they must orchestrate a (you got it) prison break.
The new series also sees the return of Michael's 'widow' Dr. Sara Tancredi (Sarah Wayne Callies) who is now raising their seven-year-old son.
In the latest trailer, shown last night during the Super Bowl, we got to see more footage from the new season while the American release date was also given, April 4th, 2017.
Hopefully it won't be too much later on this side of the pond. We're thinking it will probably be on Netflix given that the popularity of the show on the streaming service has been cited by Fox as one of the main reasons for its revival.
