They both made it through the wilderness and lived to tell the tale and now Jennifer Maguire and Mary O'Rourke have been spilling the beans about their first sexual encounters for RTE's Reality Bites.
The pair are among a host of individuals who'll be telling us what it was like to lose their virginity during the aptly titled Like A Virgin when it airs on RTE Two on Thursday night. The show discusses what it means to be a virgin in Ireland, and sure don't we all know everyone's got their own views and tales to tell when it comes to 'losing the V plates'?
For Mary (who seems to be quite the romantic when it comes down to it) it was never a case of "wham bam thank you m'am", but Jennifer says her own first time was ever so slightly different. We're guessing the sassy lassie is glad it wasn't with the fella she's about to tie the knot with so.
Mary's come in for quite the bit of criticism from commentators, who argue that the former Minister should be more concerned with the country's future but, much and all as we never really needed to hear half of it, we salute the woman for for bucking (pun totally intended) her generation's trend and speaking so openly about her sex life.
