Actress Leah Remini was on The Ellen DeGeneres Show this week and chatted to the host about her new book which documents her experiences with the Church of Scientology. Remini only left the religion less that four years ago but had grown up as a believer.

Leah, who has also created an American docu-series about Scientology, told Ellen how she was harassed when she chose to leave, but also explained how people get lured into the religion in the first place; "There’s a lot of things that are good in Scientology, because otherwise I wouldn’t have been in it.

"That's the other thing, too, is that people trivialize this thing like, ‘Oh, it’s Xenu and it’s a volcano and it’s jumping on couches and acting crazy.’ These people are victims. We’ve been victimized. We believed in something because it starts out very normal."
