Although it's one of the weakest episodes of SNL in recent memory, last night's show did give us US Attorney General Jeff Sessions played by Kate McKinnon - who played him like Forrest Gump.

You've got to imagine that the fact most of the spot-on Republican parodies are played by women really must drive them crazy. Melissa McCarthy's parody of Sean Spicer, for example, is pretty much pitch perfect.

While this sketch definitely isn't up there with previous cold opens, you do have Octavia Spencer reprising her role from The Help towards the end - so maybe that's something?
