A week of live shows to cover the Republican National Convention is a lot of work. While we'd never bet against Stephen Colbert to manage it solo, we're glad that he sought a bit of back up for this kind of undertaking.
We already knew Jon Stewart would be involved with the show in some capacity, but we didn't expect to see him so soon this week.
After a segment that saw Colbert gatecrash the convention in Hunger Games cosplay, his next trick was finding former Daily Show colleague Jon Stewart. In a riff on the Picard and Kirk meeting in Star Trek: Generations, Colbert finds Stewart holed up in a cabin in the woods, cut off from the world and shooing away Pokemon Go players. He then has to fill Stewart in on the unexplainable - Donald Trump's US Presidential candidacy.
