For regular watchers of The Daily Show on Comedy Central, John Oliver is that English guy that did a superb job covering for Jon Stewart while he directed his first movie, Rosewater.
The 8 week stint went remarkably well, with Oliver ultimately bagging his own, now extremely popular, weekly show on HBO. Last night, as Stewart figured out a way to promote his movie on his show, Oliver returned.
Having sat in the audience for a tapping of The Daily Show, it's clear how much respect Stewart's team have for him, and also how well he treats them. This was a smart, funny way of promoting his own movie.
Not gonna lie, we love Stewart and Oliver. And Rosewater looks great.
