As expected, it was full of biting/depressing comedy gold.
John Oliver has been off the air since the election so it 's understandable that in his first TV appearance in a few months that he would have a lot of thoughts and feelings about the current state of affairs, or as he puts it, "flames and the fact that America is in it."
Oliver is also very much in the camp of wishing he didn't have to talk about Trump's America but don't worry, he's armed to the teeth with things to talk about when 'Last Week Tonight' returns this weekend and gave Colbert a taster in his 10-minute sit-down last night.
