It's not due on our screens until later this year, but we've got a first look at The Walking Dead.

Following the so-so fourth season, it looks like things are ramping up for the fifth season. We know (SPOILERS!) that the gang are trying to make their way to Washington in the hopes that their "cure" will reach the right people.

That, of course, isn't going to be easy considering there's a bunch of religious nutjobs and, oh yeah, ZOMBIES everywhere that are trying to stop them.

It certainly looks a lot more action-packed than previous seasons, but that same calibre of writing and quality is there.

The Walking Dead returns to US screens in October.
