It's not every day you get the chance to see Ian McKellen getting to have a right oul bitch on the telly, so it's rather delightful to hear that he's teaming up with Derek Jacobi to get rather clever and catty for ITV's newest sitcom, Vicious.
The legendary actors star as Freddie and Stuart, and ageing gay couple who have spent the last 50 years living together in a small flat in London. Now that they've retired, they spend most of their time reading, walking the dog and, well, being vicious.
Of course, they do have a best friend to keep the company, and stop them from destroying each other entirely we'd presume. You might recognise her as Madame Maxime from the Harry Potter films, but in real life she's known as Frances de la Tour. And speaking of familiar faces, Iwan Rheon from Misfits plays their new neighbour, Ash.
There's no official air date set for the sitcom just yet, though The Radio Times has been hinting that it will hit our screens some time near the end of April. Watch this space.
