MTV are turning the beloved slasher films of our youth from the Scream franchise into a TV show, and this is the result.
It's been 20 years since the first Scream hit screens, and now Wes Craven's horror franchise is headed to the small screen thanks to MTV. Carrying on the po-mo references to the genre itself that made the other movies the right blend of funny and horrifying, the TV show also pokes a bit of fun at itself in this new trailer.
We get a look at some of the characters who are going to be in the new show as the murders begin and one of them states "you can't do a slasher movie as TV series" (but look, they are!) before we learn about all the dramatic problems that the rich kids are having with their tumultuous teenage relationships. Also there seems to be a serious problem with the electricity in this town, it keeps just shutting off all the time...
The show airs on MTV in the US on June 30th, so hopefully it doesn't take too long to make it over this side of the water.
