Hardhome was the scene of one of the most action packed and devastating scenes in Game of Thrones this year, but did you know that it all went down in a quarry outside of Belfast?

This visual effects breakdown from El Ranchito Imagen Digital shows just how they and the rest of the Thrones crew turned the vacant quarry in Magheramorne into the scenes of one of the series' greatest battles/massacres.

Now we'll admit that it ruins a bit of the magic to see Westeros reduced to what it actually is (a lot of green screen and CGI), but it's still impressive to see just how much of the scenes were created on a computer and still felt real.
