Well, we never thought we'd see the day the phrase 'lesbian necrophilia' was used when warning viewers about the content of a TV show, but sure when you've got a horror master like Eli Roth at the helm, there's no telling what's in store. Hemlock Grove is Roth's latest offering, and it's being launched exclusively on Netflix on Friday April 19th.
Based on the book by Brian McGreevy (who co-produced the series with Roth), it tells the tale of a small and seemingly normal town, that's got quite a few secrets to hide. When teenage beauty Brooke Bluebell is mysteriously murdered in a err, rather brutal fashion, suspicion falls on the townsfolk. Newcomer Peter is rumoured to be a werewolf y'see, while local rich kid Roman Godfrey is a bit, well, overly amorous to say the least. Oh, and they think he might be part vampire to boot.
Add Roman's freaky mammy Olivia (played by X-Men and GoldenEye star Famke Janssen), his uncle Norman (Dougray Scott of Mission Impossible and Enigma fame) and his rather strange younger sister (who just so happens to be 7 feet tall and a bit, errr, supernatural) to the mix and you've got quite the mystery on your hands. We caught up with the cast in Toronto earlier this week (yeah, we couldn't believe it either), and you can see how we got here on site very soon.
Catch Hemlock Grove on Netflix from Friday April 19th.
