Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell are undoubtedly one of the longest standing couples in Hollywood, having been together for an incredible 33 years, although one thing that has always baffled fans of the pair is why they never married.
The Oscar nominated actress stopped by the Loose Women studios today for a chat and opened up to the ladies about life with Kurt and why they have never tied the knot.
"I would have been long divorced if I had been married,' she joked.
Going on to say; "Marriage is an interesting psychological thing, if you need to feel bound to someone, then it's important to be married. If you have independence, if you have enough money, and you like your sense of independence, there's something psychological about not being married, because it gives you the freedom to make decisions, one way or the other.
"For me, I chose to stay, Kurt chose to stay, and we liked the choice."
Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell have one child together, Wyatt Russell, but Hawn's daughter and son - fellow actors Kate and Oliver Hudson - have always said they considered Russell to be a father to them growing up.
Goldie continued; "About ten years into our relationship, we asked the kids, do you want us to get married, and they went NO! They loved it, it was perfect the way it was, they didn't want any more trouble."
Goldie Hawn was also chatting to the Loose Women about working alongside Amy Schumer in what will be for her first feature film in fifteen years, 'Mother/Daughter', which is out next year.
