Who doesn't love Cilla Black? That Liverpool charm, the beautiful singing voice, and of course her excellent matchmaking skills as demonstrated in the hugely successful ITV show Blind Date, or as 'our Graham' would have said 'Blind Ddddate!'.
Now ITV have decided it's time we got a closer look at this British treasure and have developed a three-part drama based on her life. The show stars award winning actress Sheridan Smith playing the role of the 'Anyone Who Had a Heart' singer, and acclaimed writer Jeff Pope has penned the series. It will show Cilla's rocky rise to fame and how her friendship with a few lads by the names of John, Paul, George and Ringo shaped her career.
It also looks at the trials and tribulations of the star's love life and her relationships with the two men who fell head over heels for her, future husband Bobby Willis and legendary manager Brian Epstein, the businessman who discovered and managed The Beatles until his tragic death in 1967.
The drama entitled Cilla will air 'soon' according to ITV, in the meantime, you can watch the first trailer for it below.
Looks very promising, and undoubtedly where Cilla is concerned, there will be moments to have a 'lorra, lorra laughs' (only took us the whole story to find a way to slip that catchphrase in).
