The first trailer for the first Big Bang Theory spin-off, which follows the character of Sheldon Cooper in his childhood, has been released.
Young Sheldon centres on 9-year-old Sheldon Cooper (Big Little Lies' Iain Armitage) and his family in East Texas. It also follows the character go to high school. Zoe Perry will play Sheldon’s god-fearing mother, who is portrayed on the flagship series by Perry’s real-life mom Laurie Metcalf.
The character was brought to life in The Big Bang Theory by Jim Parsons, who recently got hitched. He narrates the trailer.
There’s a bit of a Malcolm in the Middle vibe off the new show, and it seems to be aiming for a slightly more profound tone than its predecessor.
