When the BBC announced that they were making another Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton biopic we groaned, but after getting our first sneak peek at Helena Bonham Carter and Dominic West in character, we became rather curious about Burton & Taylor.
The first trailer for the BBC Four drama dropped this morning, and we have to say, Dominic and Helena seem to be on their A-game with this one. We do so like to see Ms Bonham Carter playing it straight for a change: She does play those serious roles so awfully well.
The latest biopic strays far from the territory of Lindsay Lohan's Lifetime flop Liz and Dick, choosing to focus on a later time period in the pair's tempestuous relationship. It's set during their ill-fated appearance in the 1983 revival of Noel Coward's 'Private Lives'.
If you watch very closely, you might be able to pick out our own Stanley Townsend. We spied him at the table read.
Burton & Taylor hits TV screens in the US and the UK later this year.
