You may have heard that Galway has now officially been named an UNESCO City of Film, and Breaking Bad showrunner Vince Gilligan was only delighted about it. So much so, he even sent a video message yesterday to the people of Galway praising their achievement as well as the whole county itself.
Gilligan, who is of Irish descent, also mentioned the current lead in his Breaking Bad spin-off Better Call Saul was also of Irish descent, as Saul Goodman's real name is Jimmy McGill. Doesn't get more Irish than that really.
Gilligan has visited Ireland previously and said; "I had such a great time a few years back visiting the Galway Film Centre, just a great many warm and lovely people, and the Connemara coast, such a beautiful area, one of the most beautiful spots on earth."
Maybe he'll have Saul Goodman come to Ireland? Hey it could happen....
