He's been a history boy, Iron Man's dad, and a errr singing sensation to rival our own Piers Brosnan (Oh Mamma Mia) but now Dominic Cooper is taking on a rather deadly role: He's playing James Bond's big daddy, Ian Fleming.
Yup, as we mentioned way back when, Dom's playing the Bond author/creator in a brand new miniseries for Sky Atlantic HD, and the very first (very short) promo clip for the show has dropped. It doesn't exactly tell us much about the series, but it does let us know that Fleming wasn't worlds apart from his 007...
The four-part drama also stars Sherlock's Lara Pulver, as the rather attractive Anne O'Neill. Y'see, she was a baroness who had a wartime encounter with Fleming, and it's said that their little dalliance changed the writer's life. You could say she's the original Bond girl: Bravo lads, t'is an inspired choice in my eyes (only?). And of course, she won't be the only woman in his life either...
So, what can we expect from Fleming? (Aside from Dom and Lara getting it on? What is it with some American dramas and the non-stop rumpy pumpy?) Well, the official blurb says it's a "no-holds-barred look at Ian Fleming, the man behind the James Bond legend whose real life was as exciting, eventful and sexually charged as his famous creation".
The snaps released thus far certainly paint a rather delightful picture, so we hope this one's a diamond. Sure don't those yokes last forever?
Catch Fleming on Sky Atlantic from 2014.
