Live reporting is tricky at the best of times but having to do a segment in a swimming pool was never going to end well, as BBC Breakfast journalist Mike Bushell discovered the hard way today.

He was in Australia speaking to members of the British swim team, or attempting to anyways. Mike decided to get in the pool  to conduct the interview but made the mistake so many of us do on our hollybobs by not seeing the crouching-tiger-hidden step.

He ended up saturating his audio equipment, which he actually made a point of saying he didn't want to do at the start.

Poor guy. He recovers well but dammit it's funny, and the swim team simply cannot keep it together.
