A new show kicks off on RTE tonight called '10 Things to Know About', which sees presenters Aoibhinn Ni Shuilleabhain, Kathriona Devereux and Jonathan McCrea investigate the science behind a variety of topics, beginning with fear.
In tonight's episode, Aoibhinn decides to step up to the challenge of conquering her fear of spiders by heading along to a pet shop where she is literally surrounded by the eight-legged dudes - it's terrifying.
Aoibhinn has a life-long fear of spiders, but as she tells viewers, the fear has a rational foundation. “I have been bitten by spiders a few times and I have a really bad allergic reaction to them so I don’t like being around spiders,” she says.
The fear is so bad that on the first day that Aoibhinn was due to film in the pet shop, she couldn't face going in.
We don't blame her...
