That Voice of Ireland lark? FILTH! If they are not butchering some classics, they have gyrating dancers in the background, the likes of which would put Miley Cyrus to shame. It's terr'ble Joe, just terr'ble.
The BAI have upheld a complaint about the performance of contestant Danica Holland on the show in March as it "included clear sexual overtones and in particular there were significant sexualised elements dealing with adult themes such as sexual submission, both emotional and physical".
Come on, you think, we can handle that, right? Well it's not just about us lot, there were young childers watching too, with the BAI stating that they would have made up about 12.1% of the total audience, that's 62,900 children between the ages of 4 and 17.
Danica was singing Lady Gaga's 'Do What U Want' but in fairness, I do actually remember watching it at the time (don't judge) and thinking it was bit... much, shall we say. A bit like RTE were trying really hard to be dangerous and provocative because that's 'cool' now, and just not getting it anyway near right.
At the risk of sounding like a complete aul one, it was just the wrong tone for the show. Now back to my backgammon...
Bet you really want to watch the video now, don't you? We know you do.
