We can't say we didn't see it coming a mile off, but some Emmerdale viewers were still shocked and appalled at friendly neighbourhood serial killer Cameron's antics this week, and decided to complain to broadcasting watchdog Ofocm about what they saw on screen.
SPOILER ALERT - If you're not up to date on what went down this week in the Dales, we suggest you look away now.
It seems as though a proportion of those watching when Gennie Sharma's car took a near fatal tumble weren't too happy to watch Cameron suffocate the young mum as she lay critically injured behind the wheel. Ofcom received almost 100 complaints about the killing, while ITV were sent 50 directly.
Now don't get the wrong idea, they weren't complaining about their favourite character being killed off: Most of the viewers thought the scenes were simply too graphic to show before the watershed. The episode brought in about 7 million viewers in total, so the number of complaints may seem rather miniscule, but that doesn't mean the watchdog won't investigate. It's understood that they're still deciding whether or not to look into the issue.
Meanwhile, ITV is more than happy with how the broadcast went, and doesn't believe it breached any rules or guidelines. "This episode was the culmination of a very dramatic storyline which has been running for over a year" a spokesperson said. "We made sure appropriate warnings were broadcast before the episode aired."
There's only one thing for it...
