Somewhere in Ireland, Twink is laughing: That's the first thing that popped up on my Twitter feed on Saturday night when Eurovision host Petra Mede referred to Linda Martin as Johnny Logan in drag. However, it turns out that wasn't the case, because if The Star is to be believed, Adele King was anything but amused.
“"There is no love lost between Linda and I but I wouldn’t wish something like that on anyone" she told the newspaper. "Quite honestly I almost fell off the kitchen stool when I heard what happened. I thought it was very, very nasty."
Of course, we all remember Twink and Linda's infamous falling out during 'Menopause the Musical': Sure how could we forget? If one of them wasn't talking about it on d'telly, there was another going on about it in the paper. It seems that it hasn't extended into the professional field though, with Twink actually paying tribute to Martin's Eurovision legacy, and slamming host Petra as little more than an attention seeker.
“Linda has represented herself and her country superbly over the years and is a big supporter of the contest. It's supposed to be a music contest not a vehicle for a would-be comedienne to guarantee herself global attention. It was a cheap and tacky shot. Yet another blow for the ever-decreasing standards of Eurovision”, she said.
Because we all know you wouldn't put on a show if you were hosting, eh Adele? Late Late 50th anyone?
