Quentin Tarantino's cult-classic movie has now been adapted to a TV series, and even better, Irish Netflix users can watch it as soon as next week! The series marks director Robert Rodriguez’s first foray into serialized drama, while he also directed and executive produced the original 'From Dusk Till Dawn' movie back in 1996.
The movie starred Tarantino himself, alongside George Clooney, Harvey Keitel and Juliette Lewis, and is still revered amongst critics and film buffs alike. The TV show will be a more drawn out version of the original plot, with ten hour long episodes that will all take place over one night.
For those who haven't seen the movie, it tells the story of bank robber Seth Gecko (played by D.J. Cotrona in TV series) and his violent, unpredictable brother, Richard ‘Richie” Gecko (Zane Holtz) as they shoot their way south after a bank heist in Texas. Chaos ensues when they have to detour to a strip club populated by vampires. (Yes, vampires. If you've seen the movie though, you'll know this is in fact awesome, and not as crazy as it sounds). With the law, the undead and some of Mexico’s most hardened criminals on their trail, they have to fight until dawn to get out alive.
If it's even half as deadly as the movie, this one is bound to be a winner, especially as Robert Rodriguez’s is involved.
You can watch all of this Netflix original series in Ireland as of March 12th.
