To be fair, he would make a great Bond and seems an extremely popular choice for the role. But while Daniel Craig has been very quiet recently, that doesn't mean he won't come back.
Hiddleston is well used to answering the question at this stage but was particularly frank when Norton put it to him on his show last night. You get the impression he'd love the role - what young actor wouldn't - but he has to be careful not to be looking to be campaigning for the part. Because if he doesn't get it, well, then, morto.
Again, we still have no idea if Daniel Craig is coming back or not. He very well might - depending on who the producers get to direct. If he doesn't our number one choice is still Joel Edgerton. But Hiddleston has an undeniable charm and could obviously handle the action elements.
