It was a matter of time before there was a project on the 2016 US Presidential Election, and one is about to drop with a stellar creative team.
Mark Boal, the superb writer of Zero Dark Thirty and The Hurt Locker is one of the creative forces behind the long form, 10 part series while 'Locker' producer Megan Ellison is also involved. She is one of the most prolific producers in Hollywood, with other credits like Her, The Master, American Hustle, Foxcatcher, Zero Dark Thirty and (the hugely underrated) Everybody Wants Some!!
Interestingly THR are saying there will be a pool of journalists who will act as investigative reporters on the series, which is extremely interesting. They aren't fucking around.
There no word on a director or directors for the show as of yet, but can you imagine helmers like Kathryn Bigelow, David O'Russell and Bennett Miller being involved?
Also no word on where it would be broadcast or streamed, but we'd expect the likes of HBO and Netflix to be battling it out for this one.
