You have to marvel at the Late Late Show's attempts at trying to tap into the youth market.
Last week saw them bring in Jamie Dornan and Cillian Murphy, this week it's MMA coach John Kavanagh and a ceili band doing covers of Michael Jackson and another band rapping about the GAA.
The famous Kilfernora Ceili Band has been around for quite some time and are well known on the trad and folk circuit, however last night saw them take off into an altogether different direction.
Together with two step-dancers, the band covered Michael Jackson's seminal hit, Smooth Criminal, and was by all accounts warmly received by all watching.
Take a look.
Then came Goats Don't Shave and the Phat Kidz. Sadly, there are no clips available for this as of yet and, quite honestly, it's hard to describe it in general.
The three rappers, dressed in three-piece suits, came out and sure enough began talking about the GAA, skinny jeans, being from Donegal - all mixed with folk rock music.
Needless to say, Twitter's reaction was less positive this time around and seeing it without context is even stranger.

There needs to be a verse where he rap rhymes "immersion heaters" with "quare stretch in the evenings."#LateLate #LateLateShow

Look, maybe our minds just aren't expanded enough for a fusion of hip-hop and Celtic folk music. Did you watch it last night? What did you make of it?
