The reality show that we all kind of wish would just go away now has lost another judge. According to the Irish Independent, Cranberries singer Dolores O' Riordan has said she won't be returning to The Voice of Ireland after her most recent one-season-stint. O'Riordan definitely was the cat amongst the pigeons on the panel but to be honest her antagonising ways started to grate after a while along with the 'I've sold three billion zillion records, don't you know' speel. Ah but look, she had her moments, we suppose....
It seems the commute was getting too much for the singer, which to be fair, was quite a distance. She travelled back to her home in Canada every Monday after the show and then back again the following week. No wonder she always seemed like she was in such bad mood with all that going on.
Producers are already on the lookout for a replacement it seems, with a UK based star expected to fill the hot spot, although The Satuday's Una Healy is also rumoured to be in the mix which we actually reckon would be quite a good call. Whoever it is will be joining Bressie, Kian Egan and Jamelia on the panel, provided they all stick around for another season, but sure what else would they be doing?
ShinAwil producer Larry Bass wasn't giving anything away when he talked to the Evening Herald recently saying that he was still in the process of chatting to RTE about the fourth series of the show so it would be 'premature' to speculate on judges. Although it is thought that the show has nabbed a major sponsor for a possible two year deal.
Looks like The Voice isn't going anywhere so, guess we'll just have to live with it. At least they are making people's dreams come through and launching them to stardom.
Oh wait....
