Although she may have been just as equally known for the likes of Days Of Our Lives and Disney's The Barefoot Executive in the US, Heather North is perhaps best known to people on this side of the Atlantic as the voice of Daphen from Scooby-Doo.
North began voicing the character of Daphne - seen above - in 1970 and continued through a number of TV specials, one-offs and reboots over the years. Other credits included TV episodes of The Fugitive, The Monkees and Green Acres. Of the original voice cast of Scooby-Doo, only two remain - Frank Welker, who voiced Fred (the blonde guy), and one of the two women who voiced Velma (the woman with the glasses), Nicole Jaffe. Don Messick, who voiced Scooby, passed away in 1997 whilst Casey Kasem, who voiced Shaggy, passed away in 2014.
North is survived by her son, Kevin; daughter-in-law, Stephanie; a stepdaughter, Nina; a stepson, Wes Kenney; their spouses; six step-grandchildren; and nine step-great-grandchildren.
