There's a good chance you're probably more familiar with the theme song from The Greatest American Hero than the show itself, but nevertheless, it's had a cult following since it first debuted in 1981.
Considering TV is now running out of ideas just like movies, it shouldn't come as any surprise that a reboot of the show is now underway - with a female lead in the role made famous by William Katt. Deadline reports that ABC are now keen to get the show up and running, and have set Fresh Off The Boat showrunners Rachna Fruchbom and Nahnatchka Khan to the task.
The original series saw a group of aliens gift the unlikely lead character with a suit which gave him superpowers and the task of defending the planet, with the rebooted series doing pretty much the same thing - except the lead will be played by a 30-year old Indian-American woman.
No air date or casting has been announced as of yet, however this isn't the first time an attempt has been made to get The Greatest American Hero off the ground. Phil Lord and Chris Miller of 21 Jump Street were involved in an effort two years ago, but nothing came of it - so here's hoping this one fares better.
