A first trailer has dropped for ‘Homecoming’ (and no, we’re not referring to the Spider-Man movie). The Amazon Prime series sees Julia Roberts make a break into the small screen as a caseworker named Heidi Bergman.
In the show, she works at the Homecoming Transitional Support Centre, a Geist Group facility helping soldiers transition back to civilian life.
Also starring are Stephan James as a recovering soldier and Bobby Canavale as an ambitious company man who oversees Heidi and the facility. Sissy Spacek plays Heidi’s mother, who she now lives with four years after leaving the centre. Shea Whigham plays the Department of Defense auditor who approaches Heidi with questions as to why she left.
As happened in recent weeks with ‘My Dad Wrote a Porno’, ‘Homecoming’ is a podcast adapted for TV. It is directed by Sam Esmail, the creator of Mr. Robot.
The first teaser for the show dropped back in July and in this first full trailer, the show’s description as a “mind-bending psychological thriller” is starting to make a lot of sense.
‘Homecoming’ is released on Amazon Prime on November 2nd.
