He’s tackled hard hitting issues like race, mental health, the prison system and most recently Scientology.
His new BBC documentary is no different and deals with the use of prescription painkillers in the US and is entitled Dark States-Heroin Town.
It focuses on a town in West Virginia that has a “fatal overdose rate 13 times the national average.”
It is the first of three upcoming documentaries that that will focus on “uniquely devastating challenges" prevalent in America and will air on BBC2 on Sunday, October 8th.
