'CUMASC: Seisiúin sa Black Gate' will be exclusive to the TG4 Player this February.
A brand new TG4 music series will debut exclusively on the TG4 Player later this month, featuring the likes of Daithí Ó Drónaí, Síomha, David Kitt and Grammy-award-winning American musician, Rhiannon Giddens.
'CUMASC' is a lovingly curated showcase of emerging and established artists from Ireland and around the world, who are here to celebrate collaboration and creativity as they meet for the first time in the hopes of making music that intertwines each of their abilities.
The live performances were filmed in the heart of Galway at The Black Gate Cultural Centre and the series also promises to feature behind the scenes footage and interviews filmed around the city and surrounding countryside.
The first episode of the series will feature Grammy-award-winning blues and country musician, Rhiannon Giddens plus Italian composer Francesco Turrisi and Connemara-born sean-nós singer, Róisín Elsafty. These three artists will collaborate and draw from their three distinct folk traditions in order to create something truly unique.
Also featured in the TG4 music series will be electronic musician Daithí Ó Drónaí, violinist Suzanne Savage, American singer-songwriter Sam Amidon, John Conneely, Síomha, David Kitt, Rachael Lavelle, The Mary Wallopers, Inni-K and many many more.
Here's the trailer for you to get a feel of this collaborative and quite ambitious new series.
'CUMASC: Seisiúin sa Black Gate’ will be available to watch worldwide on the TG4 Player from Friday, February 11.
