David Attenborough's BBC shows never disappoint and last night's 'Blue Planet II' was no exception as we discovered things about the deepest darkest parts of our oceans that were truly mindblowing.
As always, Twitter was on fire with red hot reactions to everything that happened and here are ten of the best.
We don't think we're exaggerating when we say the general reaction was shock and awe, with pretty much everyone watching pulling this face throughout.

Some mirrored tabloids and other outlets in their bizarre policing of the wearing of poppies.
These fucking squid aren’t wearing a poppy. #BluePlanet2

While others used their time to fire some shots at alternate programming on the night.
Cold-blooded sharks with dead eyes, tiny predatory brains feeling no pity or remorse. But enough about X Factor, I might watch #BluePlanet2

And then there was the inevitable reaction to that sea sponge.
"I'm feeling emotionally stable today"
"These shrimp were swept into a sponge and are trapped until death"
"thanks David"#BluePlanet2— TechnicallyRon (@TechnicallyRon) November 5, 2017
#BluePlanet2 is that good that it’s got me reaching for the tissues over some shrimps trapped in a sponge ðŸ˜

But the biggest shock came from the discovery that there are lakes under the sea. Yes, under the sea. We're still in shock.
When David Attenborough just casually throws it out there that there are LAKES UNDER THE SEA???!!!!! #BluePlanet2

David Attenborough has proved there are lakes under the sea and you all said Spongebob was unrealistic. #BluePlanet2

And then there was the fact that the show left us questioning everything we knew about life and the universe.
8pm: Here's a mad looking fish
40 mins later: so anyway, that's the origin of life on the planet and there might be aliens ðŸ'?#BluePlanet2

But we'll leave the last word on it to 'Dragon's Den' star Deborah Meaden, who clearly watched 'Finding Nemo' and 'Finding Dory' recently (but we agree with her sentiments 100%).
Oh how we should be humbled by these Ocean beings and instead we treat their environment with contempt #BluePlanet2

We can't wait to see what's in store for us next week.
