It'd take some woman to put up with Bill Clinton's roving eye and take on the mantle of the US Secretary of State, so why not get a woman of steel to take on the role? That's what the gang at US network NBC have done for their brand new biopic.
The network has just announced plans to air a four hour miniseries about the one and only Hillary Clinton, and taking the lead is none other than the Man of Steel's adoptive mammy, Diane Lane. The Wrap says they've yet to cast an actor in the role of her famous husband, and an air date is yet to be set, but NBC entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt said it may air before Hillary makes any announcements about her presidential ambitions.
The network also announced plans to remake Rosemary's Baby, launch a brand new Stephen King adaptation (The Tommyknockers), and take us right back to the very beginning with the arrival of the settlers at Plymouth Rock. Sounds as though there will be plenty to keep the network busy into 2014.
So, how about Diane then? Will she make a decent Hillary? Should someone else have been cast? Or would everyone just pale into insignificance after Julianne Moore's portrayal of Sarah Palin?
