Remember we told you that Maggie Gyllenhaal was making a brand new miniseries for the BBC? Well, Irish actor Stephen Rea has just joined the cast.
Rea joins Gyllenhaal, Broadchurch star Andrew Buchan and The IT Crowd's Katherine Parkinson in the new drama, which is described as "a fast paced labyrinthine thriller", about a young woman who inherits her father's company, and attempts to do the right thing with it.
Our Stephen will be playing Hugh Hayden-Hoyle, an MI6 spy who decides to dig into Stein's past just before he's due to retire. Sure wouldn't it remind you of his days as Broy in Michael Collins? Scottish stage and screen veteran Lindsay Duncan will play his rather bitter ex wife, while Academy and Tony award nominee Janet McTeer (Albert Nobbs), will be lording it over him as the head of MI6.
And as for Buchan (aka Danny's dishy dad from Broadchurch), well, he'll be playing Maggie's brother, while Parkinson takes on the role of his highly strung pregnant wife. We're sure she'll deliver when it comes down to it.
Catch The Honourable Woman on BBC Two and the Sundance Channel in 2014.
