Coronation Street: Soooo, Jenna was never going to end up with Kevin, was she? This week, herself and Sophie were 'caught in the act', leaving Kevin feeling the physio (badum-tish) was now taking advantage of his daughter. So he reported her. It's not only Tina who's in the family way... Let's just say Kylie is starting to reeeeally regret that one night stand of hers. As is Nick, who does he usual thing of insisting on an abortion. Speaking of Nick, between this scenario, a street scrap with Peter (makes a nice change from having one in the middle of Simon's school), trashing his own bistro and managing the advances of Leanne, he had a really rubbish week - so we had to endure more pained wincing than usual. Karl left Jason stranded; a newly returned Hayley tried to reunite Roy and Mary (never a wise move), while Lewis continued to ruin Gail's life by wearing the face off her at any opportunity.
Emmerdale: Rachel was delighted to find out that Archie is well enough to come home - which is amazing news indeed considering he was due at least another 10 weeks in the womb. Chas started to worry when she received sabotaged photos of her and Carl (surely Bernice isn't that keen to buy the pub…?), with her stalker revealing themselves to be Carl's doppelganger son. The one who gave the really touching speech at the funeral. Declan and Katie finally confronted each other about the infertility elephant lurking about their drawing room; Bob started to realise he's getting some stirrings for Brenda - particularly when the latter put the lunge in on Dan during their Bronte night; while Moira's frustrated when Cain blanks her calls. She got the hump even more thanks to his laissez faire attitude re Chas.Oh, and we were meant to care about Belle's relationship with some Bieber-lite called Luke.
EastEnders: Joey's court case arrived but that was the least of his worries as Alice made it known that she is determined to find out what really happened to their dad the night he died. The only person to give her a straight answer was Kat, who admitted they all watched Derek die because they thought he was taking the piss. Also in Branning land: Max was exasperated with Tanya - what with all the badgering re decisions, not to mention her recent 'plan.' Then, to top things off, Abi's beyond fed up with being nice all the time, so she decided to tell her nearest and dearest exactly what she thinks of them all. That faaaaaambilly dinner of Max's was a brilliant idea. Great way to welcome the second wife and the long lost cousin to the family. Elsewhere, Roxy felt the need to issue an ultimatum regarding loyalties when Alfie had the nerve to talk to to Kat. She might regret that. Speaking of which, Denise was determined to make things up with Kim after she jumped her boyfriend (or rather, her boyfriend jumped her). But then Ray had a bombshell of his own.
Fair City: Family tensions ran amok as the Doyles reunited for Rita's funeral, but that's not all they have to contend with; there were more revelations afoot resulting in a horrified Bela turning on Yvonne. Then Darren Doyle had more bad news - and that's not even addressing the friction his return has caused between the man-starved Dillon sisters… Tommy confronted Blackie and relished his reaction as he got one up on his loving brother, while Dermot ruined Jo's birthday celebrations. Happy New Year, everybody!
