Lena Dunham's pretty much owning television at the moment. The Girls creator picked up two Golden Globes earlier this year and her little TV series just seems to keep going from strength to strength.
To top it all off, Ms Dunham picked up the award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Comedy Series at the Director's Guild of America Awards this past weekend. "It is such an unbelievable honor... I appreciate it endlessly to even call any of these people my peers. Surreal is, I know, an overused Los Angeles word, but it's how I feel" she said, before thanking her crew and family. "Steven Spielberg, I’m coming for you," she warned, "Ben Affleck, I already came for you." *ahems*
But things don't stop there for Lena, oh no. She's now teaming up with her Girls co-showrunner, exectuvie producer Jenni Konner to develop ANOTHER series for HBO. Yup, Deadline says the series will be set in New York and will be based on All Dressed Up And Everywhere To Go, the upcoming memoir of long-time Bergdorf Goodman (it's posher than BT's apparently) personal shopper and New York institution Betty Halbreich.
Deadline says Dunham and Konner will write the show together, drawing inspiration from Halbreich's experiences of working with the rich and famous. It's just been optioned for now, but if past success is anything to go by we can see it getting the green light.
She's here to stay so.
