Although it lasted four seasons, it looks Sleepy Hollow has finally lost its head.
Variety reports that the fantasy-cop procedural series has been axed at Fox after the series posted its worst ratings in its fourth season so far. As well as this, the series also had a number of behind-the-scenes changes and, most recently, Nicole Beharie - one of the main stars of the show - exited at the end of the third season.
Sleepy Hollow became a buzzy, cult favourite when it initially debuted, but its fortunes quickly dissipated after a so-so second season before stumbling through its third and fourth. There's no word yet on when the final episode will air, but it should come as no surprise - especially considering Fox is known for being particularly brutal to sci-fi / fantasy TV shows.
After all, this is the same place that cancelled Firefly.
